Women's Missionary Union

WMU, a church program organization, seeks creative ways to involve their members in learning about missions, praying for missions, giving to missions, doing missions, and developing a spiritual lifestyle

Women on Mission (Women ages 18 and above) gain an understanding of their part in God's plan for reaching others through their mission programs as they participate in praying for, giving to, and doing missions.

The Women on Mission General Meeting is held the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. This meeting provides an opportunity for all of the women's missions groups to meet together to enjoy a mission program, prayer time, and sharing.

There are four Women on Mission groups.

  • The Morning Missions Bible Study Group:
    Teacher: Mary Porter
Meeting Time: 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM in the church Prayer Room.

  • The Pauline Snelson Ministry Group:
    Teacher: Glee Banner
Meeting Time: Second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the church Prayer Room.

  • The Round Table Group: a mission book review group. Book suggestions are taken from Mission Mosaic, and all books are available in the church library.
    Teacher: Claire Rector
Meeting Time: second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 PM in the church Fellowship Hall.

In addition, The United Church Women of Weaverville organization meets in March, June, and October each year. The Women on Mission organization of FBCW hosts this meeting at 7:00PM on the fourth Monday of June each year in the Fellowship Hall.
