Jim has been pastor of First Baptist Church since 1997 and is grateful for life and ministry in Weaverville. A native of Salisbury, he previously served as campus minister at Wingate University and as pastor of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church in Roxboro. He enjoys playing the guitar and reading, especially theology and literature. Jim is married to Jane, who serves as minister of music at First Baptist. They have two daughters, Claire and Sarah.

Jane has served as Minister of Music at First Baptist for 12 years. She is also Voice Instructor at Warren-Wilson College and Montreat College. A graduate of Mars Hill College and the University of Colorado at Boulder, Jane performs regularly throughout the community. She says, "It is the joy of my heart to be singing, teaching, and directing others in using their God-given talents."

Joy Sprinkle

Joy has served First Baptst as secretary for 17 years. She says that she feels thankful to have been and be a part of at FBC. Joy enjoys music, reading, and her family. Joy and her husband, Danny, have two daughters, Jessica and Emily.

Walker Brown

Walker is a senior Social Work student at Mars Hill College. He is happily married to his wife, Allison. He is passionate about working with youth and children and loves to sing and to watch and play sports, particularly basketball.

Frances Coates
Organist
Frances Coates is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, College Conservatory of Music, where she received the Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting. Her Bachelor of Music studies took place at Mars Hill College as an organ student of Donna Robertson.
